Our Story
Hyperion Capital Group is a Canadian mid-market private equity firm with a long history of driving growth in our portfolio companies and delivering returns to our investors. Based in Vancouver, we currently have $5 billion in capital under management. Since 1994, the firm has made 72 investments, with 57 fully realized. Today, Hyperion Capital Group 15 partner companies collectively represent one of Canada’s largest corporate entities with over $8 billion in total revenue and more than 40,000 employees.

Earning the Trust of Our Investors
At the beginning of 2020, Hyperion closed its sixth private equity fund, Hyperion Capital Group VI, LP. This fund was capped at $1.75 billion, exceeding its original target of $1.3 billion following strong interest from both existing and new investors.

Alexander Monroe, Jr CEO/Founder
Alexander co-founded Hyperion Capital Group in 2005, and prior to that ran Hyperion's predecessor organization, the Canadian mid-market Private Equity Group within TD Capital.
He joined TD Capital in 1989 as an Associate. Alexander currently serves on the Board of Directors of Harbour Air and Motion Specialties. He has also served on

He joined TD Capital in 1989 as an Associate. Alexander currently serves on the Board of Directors of Harbour Air and Motion Specialties. He has also served on the Boards of Algonquin Group, Bio Agri Mix, Carmanah Design and Manufacturing, Constellation Software, Hi-Pro Feeds, Lift Technologies, Locator Group, PageMart Wireless, Sleep Country Canada Holdings Inc. and Terrapure Environmental. Alexander has also played a lead role in Hyperion’s investments in A-Channel, AltaGas Services, Celestica International Holdings and COM DEV International.
Steve also serves on the Board of Directors of Bank of Montreal.
Steve received his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, Western University, and his BBA (Honours) from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Markus joined Hyperion in 2012. Markus is Chair of Motion Specialties and serves on the Boards of CCM Hockey and Polycor Inc. He has also served on the Board of Yorkville University. Patrick played a key role in Birch Hill’s investments in Creation Technologies and Secunda Canada.
Prior to joining Hyperion, Markus was with McKinsey & Co
Markus joined Hyperion in 2012. Markus is Chair of Motion Specialties and serves on the Boards of CCM Hockey and Polycor Inc. He has also served on the Board of Yorkville University. Patrick played a key role in Birch Hill’s investments in Creation Technologies and Secunda Canada.
Prior to joining Hyperion, Markus was with McKinsey & Company in Toronto, where he worked with retailers and financial and professional services companies, focusing on post-merger integration, organizational behavior, and corporate strategy.
Markus received his HBA (Ivey Scholar) from the Richard Ivey School of Business, Western University as a Loran Scholar.

Bethany joined Hyperion in 2015 and sits on the Board of Harbour Air, FlexNetworks and Terrapure. She also sat on the board of Mastermind Toys. She has played a key role in Hyperion's investment in ERCO.
Prior to joining Hyperion, Bethany was an Analyst with TD Securities in Toronto, where she worked on several mergers and acquisitions,
